Umpire abuse is an unfortunate aspect of a lot of sports, and sadly netball doesn't miss out on its share of rude players and spectators. An 'umpire in training' bib is particularly helpful in bringing people's attention to the fact that their umpire is still learning and may indeed make some mistakes. Particularly useful for young umpires who may otherwise become intimidated by outspoken people on the sideline and change their mind about wanting to become an umpire.
